This is a mobius strip of Level 1 or Super Mario Bros. The whole level is wrapped around itself in a single surface, and poor Mario begins and ends at the same spot every time :(

All the elements from the level are there: every mushroom, turtle, cloud and star. They are all carved out of the surface at different heights, which looks fantastic when you have a light coming from the side, and each block casts a shadow.

It's a great piece to have on your desk, or to hang from a string to let it spin around.

A large version of the puzzle is available here.

The goal is to assemble the five identical pieces shown in the first picture into the ring-like structure shown in the others. Each of the five pieces is made from six dodecahedral cells, giving the puzzle its name. It is based on the 120-cell, one of the six regular polytopes in four-dimensional space. When assembled the puzzle is a part of the stereographic projection of the radial projection of the 120-cell to the three-sphere.

This is joint work with Saul Schleimer.

I made these because I was curious how well double helical gears would work with a small number of teeth. Turns nicely, and is very fun to play with. If you blow on it or spray water over it it makes a nice turbine.

The minimoova™ is a smaller desk toy gift, unique, compact & one of a kind. The minimoova™ is an executive desk toy approximately 2.5in/67mm in diameter and made using 3D printing for your office desk or houshold tabletop. The minimoova™ kinetic desk toy rolls from side to side along a snake like which initially appears unpredictable. With some patience and practice you can predict the path of this executive toy.

This kinetic motion desk toy rolls over a flat surface like a work desk or tabletop. To get started, give your minimoova™ kinetic desk sculpture a gentle tap and if your office desktop or table top surface is not level you will see your desk top toy roll independently across the surface.

Material and color:
This kinetic 3D print is 3D printed in tough yet lightweight 3d printed polyamide with a fine surface texture which makes an ideal interface for a smooth rolling surface. Colors depicted in the images above are for reference only; please check information under the 'select material' pull down menu to get the most up-to-date preview of currently available colors.

Enjoy!
