This pendant is designed to hold a small cylindrical object 22mm in length and 12mm in diameter. The two halves are held together by a necklace cord (not included). It is designed for a 1mm leather cord, but any cord 1mm or less will work.

cup volume approximately 60ml. Teeth and eyes of snake are not as detailed as in 3D model because of the glazing but they are sufficiently detailed (for my opinion).

This centipede has hinged legs, body segments, and antennae; it is fully posable. The sculpture is inspired by the "jizai okimono" of Meiji-era Japan, which were fully posable handmade metal figures of real creatures.

Before installation, unclick all the moving parts and move all the moving parts back and forth gently, this may be quite hard at first due to excess printing material from the printing process however this will get easier quickly, however some of these hinges are designed to rotate only 90 degrees in each direction, do not force the moving parts more than this as this can result in damaging the hinges.

To install the case, push the top of the iPhone all the way into the top of the case and then clip the bottom two corners in and push them together to ensure a good fit.

"Kitty cat" is a series of pendants. The parts are designed to be fully movable. It makes a great gift to yourself or to someone you really like or love. ***The chain is not included in the delivery.

A custom Fisher-Price clockwork record player record - plays "Still Alive" from Portal! The tune and model were all generated in Processing. Some people have asked for some more details on the way I made the model: I started with measuring out the discs that came with our player, they're injection moulded and all seem to have quite close tolerances which gave me a great interest in getting the right size for my model. Once I worked out that it might be possible I moved on to setting up the notes so I could work out a tune. I spent quite a long time with a tone generator and a toothpick (driving my wife half crazy in the process) until I had worked out the frequencies of the notes that the music box part of the player could make. I made the tone generator in Processing using the Beads library. I found that, although there are 22 separate notes on the music box there are only 16 unique notes, 6 are doubles. I've assumed that this is so that the notes can be played more quickly - due to the mechanism in the player 'tone arm' there's a risk of a missed note or jam if only one track is used and the pips (knobs? dots?) are too close together. Once I had this information I made Processing sketches (Beads again) to make up new tunes and also check that I had the right notes by playing back one of the existing discs (good job I checked since I had two notes wrong...) with note positions copied from a photo of the disc. Working out the new tune was complicated since there isn't a full chromatic scale available so some tunes simply can't be played even if you shift the key up and down, I wasn't able to get the rest of the 'Still Alive' tune, for example. The tune repeats twice around the disc and wraps so it keeps playing (for as long as the spring lasts) Once the tune was done I had to transform from linear note positions which I'd used to work out the tune (the sketch looks like a music stave but with each line being a note on the available scale) into polar coordinates around the disc and verify the dimensions. I created a blank disc by 'lathing' the vertex-by-vertex profile I measured using vernier calipers around an axis in Processing and exporting it for later use. The "notes" are added onto the blank disc by compositing some boxes that I generate in Processing from the notes with the pre-rendered disc which is stored as an STL file - here I used the Unlekker library for both export and import/combine/re-export. Once this is done it can be uploaded directly in Processing to Shapeways. ...and believe it or not that's the short form and entirely skips my (mis)adventures in Blender, Autodesk 123D, Solidworks... At some point I'd hope to be able to make at least some of the code available but it's in a really bad state at the moment so I'd like to tidy it up before I release anything...

DOLL HOUSE RING - US sz 5.5

This ring is apx a size 5.5. I will be publishing other ring sizes, but if you need another size please let me know and I will create the right size for you to order.

Item shown in the pictures does have a bit of post production work on the surface. I sand and polish the ring after receipt from the printers which rectifies the pitting and any texture of the surface. If you order this item it will come straight from the machines at shapeways and might come with a slightly jagged surface that may need to be sanded smooth. I do offer this item in its post production glorification at my etsy shop. Contact me if you have questions.

This design features a cute little house that I designed to look like the stereotypical pre colonial house often chosen as a model for doll house constructions. There are details on all four sides of the house. Center of the house is open and you can peer into the house through the windows and the door. One side features cloud-like little bushes while the other side displays a jagged shape to represent grass. The attic space is also empty (going all the way through) so that this ring can be strung on a chain and worn as a necklace if desired. I also offer a necklace version of this design. I have a couple smaller ones too that I have yet to photograph. So check back for new designs soon.

I have always wanted a house or castle ring ever since I saw the episode of the x-files "Kaddish" which featured a golem that gave his wife a "temple ring" which is traditional in some judaic wedding practices and refers to the story of the testament of soloman. "It describes how Solomon was enabled to build the Temple by commanding demons by means of a magical ring entrusted to him by the Archangel Michael." Anyway, the ring in the xfiles was awesome...and this is one step toward making something similar. More elaborate architectural structures coming soon.

Two identical Pieces make one new amazing lampShade. 

The two parts of this innovative lighting system interlock to form one lampshade around the cable of an existing hanging light fixture. The locking mechanism was inspired by a Bikini Clip that is as easily opened and closed.

Lending itself well to bespoke customer alterations, Two Piece Shade can comprise personal messages or patterns to make it entirely unique and special. The translucent properties of Shapeway’s WSF make it the ideal material to generate interesting shadows and only reveal the inside when the light is lit. It’s further advantage of adding color opens up the possibility of mix-and-matching these interchangeable parts to your personal taste. 

The final size of the overall lampshade is H22cm x W12.4cm x D12.4cm

This is the original hand-crank fan. A slimmer (and less expensive) version can be seen here: Hand-Crank Fan - slim, and both models are still being tweaked a bit before they are released for sale.

This model is specifically designed for the loose tolerances of the WSF materials, and is a single print with six moving parts, although not really effective as a real fan. The entire model is printed with all of the parts in position; nothing is assembled post-production. The 1:9 gear ratio (made of two sets of gears each with a 1:3 gear ratio) makes the fan blades rotate nine times around for every single rotation of the crank. The grip of the handle rotates freely as well.

Inspired by the articulated Japanese sculptures "jizai okimono" of Japan. This katydid is modeled in the style of the artist Takase Kozan.
