«TRANSILVANIA» REMEMBERED
• One of several studies I made in preparation for a monumental project (on a much larger scale) entitled: «TRANSILVANIA REMEMBERED»; the project is about «TRANSILVANIA» (note the Romanian spelling) the quite famous Romanian passenger ship that was in continuous service from just before WW2 up to the end of Ceausescu's era in Romania; I happen to know a very interesting WW2 true story about events aboard this ship that could very easily be the script for a box office hit movie; more details about this project at a later date • The whole assembly comprising of the ANCHOR, with its CHAIN, leading through the bottle's neck to the floating SHIP inside the partially water-filled BOTTLE, were successfully printed together, as "one part", in White Strong and Flexible by Shapeways; the red ship is an identical copy of the one that is inside the bottle; it was printed separately in Terracotta Strong and Flexible to test its floating ability.

Can you imagine a modern person without an iphone, windows phone or a smartphone running on android?.. Many of these smartphones come with already installed decoding-apps, and when they don't one can always download one of hundreds of free apps, which means that literally every second person can decode a QR-tag.
QR-Code tagging is becoming a popular trend in media and everyday life. They are not just a new generation of bar codes. QR is more than that. QRs are nice and sexy, and most of all QR codes look so interesting that you want actually to DECODE them!
All this makes a personal QR-code tag an absolutely cool widget for you or a great gift for your friends. It doesn't just look good, it FUNCTIONS! Encode a message, a link to your website or online portfolio, your additional emergency info, or any any other text in this little tag, or use it as a one-of-a-kind business card!
Moreover: you decide what color you want it. But, please, note that the dark "dots" should be dark enough in comparison to the light-colored "surface".
Please note, that with extensive use the colors will fade out over time and scratches will appear.

A 16cm high clasp mug whose interior is formed by five miniature, upturned Fan Vaults (an English Gothic innovation from the 14th Century), contained within a simple circular exterior which opens up with five triangular cuts at the base to reveal the complex geometry underneath. As you drink, and the top of your tea (or coffee) descends, the changing geometric section through the mug is brought into sharp, ornamental relief.

The Kaleidoscope Clock is a two-part model for constructing a clock face. This is Part B of the model: the background, numbers, and hands of the clock. Part A is the frame of the clock and is available at http://www.shapeways.com/model/580491
Each of the two parts of the clock is available in any of the Strong & Flexible colors, allowing you to create a clock face in the colors you prefer.
You will also need a clock movement. The kit is designed to be used with a high-torque clock movement available at http://www.clockparts.com/clock-part/high-torque-movement-aa-cell/
Part A of the kit is ready to use out of the bag. Part B is sprued and will need to be clipped apart with nail clippers or utility blade. Use a gel super glue to assemble the model. Don't use regular super glue as the Strong & Flexible material is porous and will absorb the glue. The gel variety of super glue does not soak into the material. Assemble the clock as follows:
1. Apply a tiny dab of gel super glue to the flange around each number and insert in the appropriate place on the frame of the clock face.
2. Apply a tiny dab of gel super glue to each of the intersection grooves on the background piece, line it up with the frame, and squeeze together momentarily at each intersection point. Err on the side of less glue.
3. Push the shaft of the clock movement through the hole in the frame, add the rubber and brass washers (included with the clock movement), and add and tighten the brass hex nut (also included with the movement).
4. (Optional) Apply an acrylic spray clearcoat to the assembled face and hands.
5. Push the hour hand onto the protruding white post on the clock movement. You don't need glue to attach the hour hand. It's designed to be snug.
6. Push the minute hand onto the brass post at the end of the movement and thread the brass cap nut (included with the clock movement) onto the post.
