The photo isn't of the model printed by shapeways! I'm sure they'll make a much nicer looking product! The photo is of this model, printed on my home 3d printer (A Makerbot Replicator). I printed it at home to get the sizing just right, and am putting it on shapeways for the sake of getting a good print of it, in metal or some other nice material. But I'm also putting it here for anyone else who might be interested. If I get it printed, I'll update the photos with Shapeways' results.
