Ibexien

by TheoJansen
The third public evolution of the Animaris Geneticus Parvus. #7 has evolved legs, with pointy feet instead of flat. Featuring a fully working Theo Jansen mechanism as used in his work "the Rhinoceros".
Also see our new Propeller Propulsion add-on, to have your Strandbeest walk autonomously!

The mechanism is printed assembled, and will work without further assembly right after birth from the printer.

A few tips to consider:

- After birth there might be a little powder left in some joints, or it might not go supersmooth. This will fix itself after the animal has a little bit of practice!

- Some surfaces work better than others. The legs require a little friction, and a flat surface. So for example: A rough table or floor, thin flat carpeting, or a thin rubber sheet. It will slip on a too smooth surface.

- The best way to push it is by its nameplate. Do not push down, but forward.

- The beest is light, but quite strong. It can actually be dropped without breaking. It is not a "toy" however, and not suitable for children. The 3D printer material is easy to stain so clean hands are advised.

this piece is size MEDIUM
size LARGE also available
not sure which size you need? check out our sizing chart

An intricate, organic cuff from our Cell Cycle collection which was inspired by cellular forms. The C-shaped, flexible design fits close to the skin, is light-weight, and uses minimal material. The final product is built up layer by layer in durable nylon plastic using Selective Laser Sintering, a kind of 3D printing. Nylon is quite comfortable to wear because it is lightweight and flexible.

The design was formed in a simulation of spring meshes. We created interactive software to morph, twist, and subdivide each design, transforming a simple mesh to a complex patterned structure. In our work, we start with a natural inspiration and translate that into interactive software which we can use to generate an infinite variety of forms and patterns.

This is a mobius strip of Level 1 or Super Mario Bros. The whole level is wrapped around itself in a single surface, and poor Mario begins and ends at the same spot every time :(

All the elements from the level are there: every mushroom, turtle, cloud and star. They are all carved out of the surface at different heights, which looks fantastic when you have a light coming from the side, and each block casts a shadow.

It's a great piece to have on your desk, or to hang from a string to let it spin around.

This set of 2 eggcups is printed on demand in laser sintered polyamide. The eggcup can hold a medium egg and due to the flexible nature of the printing material, it will adapt its shape to larger eggs as well.

The product will be shipped in standard Shapeways packaging and delivered within 10 working days.

Shipping costs vary upon destination, and will be calculated when checking out.

The available colors will vary by season and are therefore time limited.

I created the skeleton of a skeletal Lepidoptera. The Death's Head Hawkmoth (Acherontia atropos), seen on The Silence of the Lambs , has a skull marking on its back. I made a full human-like bone structure for the moth, with the grinning skull protruding from its back.

The model is very thin, yet sturdy and flexible. Detail level is fantastic, and the natural texture of the 3d printing process gives it a bone-like appearance that works wonders.

Yes, moths don't have endoskeletons, that's the whole point...

Half Life 2 meets Portal. Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance's best friend, DOG, contemplating the beauty of his new toy, a companion cube. What else could you possibly want? Oh, that's right, Half-Life 2 Episode 3 would be nice...

Gabe, are you listening?

This uses the original texture maps from the game, you can even see the Lambda Half Life logo on DOG's back.

It wasn't easy! I had to remap all the textures manually, and fix all the geometry to make it printable and thick enough to support the weight. I also made most large pieces hollow, but you won't notice that at all (except in the reduced price this provided).

The Lotus top is a graceful form that embraces the upper body, accentuating the shoulders and clavicles. It's name comes from its unique design that blooms at the center opening, allowing the wearer to put her head through and rest it comfortably on the neck and shoulders.

A perfect fit requires a 3D body scan. Email Contact (at) ThreeFormFashion.com for more information on full service scanning and fitting.

Though these earrings may resemble an xenomorphic sea creature, we can neither confirm nor deny that they were modeled after any organism living, dead, or bearing any blood relation to our board of directors.

These earrings are sized for 18 gauge piercings and should fit most people with pierced ears. If you need a different size, just ask! I have a few larger gauges already available in the shop, and can resize it to a custom gauge if it's not already there.

Disclaimer on the images: any photos labeled "polished" are stainless steel that has been hand polished with a dremel. The stainless that you order will have more of a texture to it. I haven't yet made these for myself in bronze glossy, gold plated glossy, or either types of silver, but if you want the highly polished look your best bet is going to be silver glossy.

This fully working 12mm 3x3x3 Cube is nearly five times smaller than the original Rubik's Cube - it is far smaller than just a single cubelet of its big brother. It is printed in one piece, without the need for assembly. A thin layer of wax keeps the parts separated during printing, which is then melted away to yield this fully functional Rubik's Cube.

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE BUYING
Since Shapeways' can not remove all of the wax themselves, you will probably have to do some work to get your print to turn. You should boil some water and put it in a cup along with your cube. Leave it in there for a few moments, and stir to help speed up the wax removal. Then remove from the cup with a teaspoon, and (being careful not to get burns from the water) gently move one or more sides. You may need to put the cube back in to the water to melt more wax and continue this process untill all of the pieces are freed up. You may also need to use a small knife to help separate some pieces. Note that if the wax cools down, the puzzle may become more difficult to move.
Since the heat also softens the puzzle plastic, it is very delicate when warm. You should take extreme caution while removing the excess wax. Neither Shapeways or me can take responsibility if your puzzle breaks during this process. It might therefore be recommendable to order more than one copy of this puzzle.
It might make things a lot easier if you put soap in the water, that might help dissolve the wax. I haven't tested it myself but it sounds promising.

Now you can actually touch and feel your childhood nostalgia with this remarkable 3D pixel style Pop art tribute to the legendary 8-bit Super Mario Bros. game for the classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

The design features the authentic Super Mario Bros. pixel game characters and scenery graphics, carefully translated to three-dimensional shapes. The sculpture can be viewed from all sides and is produced using a robust and durable full-color sandstone material.

The pipe can be used as a pen holder or even as a small plant pot, to grow your own Mario Piranha Plant from the pipe. Let your creativity go wild.

Enjoy the envious glances of your friends and colleagues when a piece of Mario's retro game world is proudly inhabiting your desk. Or feel the intense, eternal love of your partner when you surprise him or her with this exclusive wannahave gadget.

The individual elements (decor, Mario, Koopa and Goomba) can also be ordered separately from the Sevensheaven 3D Print Store, with the advantage of being able to determine your own placement of the characters on the stage, and of course being able to play with the characters and feel like a kid again.

I call this pendant simply - '69'

Partially inspired by my previous pendant Twin Rail Mobius, '69' is a set of four rails arranged in a figure 8 to make a train of balls travel in seemingly never ending 6 and 9 shapes.

Note: shell only is 3D printed, add your own 6mm or 1/4in balls!
If the balls stick, use just one ball to find the sticky spot and adjust the rails physically either with pliers or a screwdriver - doing so is at your own risk, so please blame no-one but yourself if injury is caused.

This is a leaping Springbok gazelle that can hang in a window, on a wall, or on a Christmas tree. I'm an animal lover and I strive to get dynamic poses and photorealism out of my models.   This model is 3 inches tall from top to bottom and can be "3D printed" to become a physical figurine in any of the materials shown below.  The least expensive material is "White Strong and Flexible", but "White Strong and Flexible Polished" is smoother and "White Detail" is both smooth and more detailed.

Visit http://www.deaverdesign.com/Shapeways_color.html for information on coloring or clear coating your model.

A percentage of the proceeds go to animal related charities.
