Yesterday I received my new case design for a client project (in WS&F, 2mm walls, really stable) and to make it look more professional, I tried to paint it. As mentioned in the painting tutorial, I've used acrylic paint. It is "artists' acrylic colours", from Schmincke. I wanted Revell colors, but the shop didn't have it. At least it is dilutable with water and you can wash it from your fingers with water as long as it is wet. I've mixed one part blue and three parts silver. Two layers: First I sanded the part a bit and washed it with dish liquid. Then painted the first layer and slightly sanded it again, like a primer. The second layer was really opaque:
They match perfectly. Only a small gap of maybe 0.3 mm without screws. A close-up: When pressing it together, there is no gap, thanks to the flexibility of WS&F. And it was easy for me to create the missing notches with saw and rasp
It's difficult to tell, given that you've painted it and sanded twice; were both halves printed in the same direction? Also, can you tell us what's going inside?
Yes, looks like the direction was the same. The case is for a extension box for a data logger for a client project as a prototype. The cylindrical sockets in the case are for mounting a PCB with lots of plugs on it.
