For all those who are interested in toolkits and 3D printing there is good news. During the forthcoming Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, a 3D printing hackathon will be organized. The challenge is to develop a toolkit to 3D design and 3D Print, based upon Wii or Microsoft Kinect, Leapmotion or any other innovative device, not being a mouse, in 32 hours.

The results will be presented at the 3D Printing Event on 23 October where Shapeways will be present as well. The hackathon will take place some weeks before. Follow this website for more details and registration information.

The materials page gives an overview of the materials and their properties including the price. At Shapeways, the price exists of material price and handling fee. Here's a quick overview for the different materials categorized into plastics, metals and glass for Bowie the Bunny from BAROBA's shop. 

Please note prices are in US Dollars from Europe so VAT is included. The exact volume is not specified because it is a shop owners model but it can be used as an indicative comparison across different materials.
