...Seems to me that the good-old Rubik's Cube Cheat Book would still apply. Too bad it's $84.00 USD to find out, otherwise I'd get one.

Wow, this is a great price! I want one!

I've heard it is easier than a standard Rubik's, but not the same ... only one way to find out.

I bought one and it arrived yesterday! I was mistaken, I think one can solve it essentially using a standard 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube algorithm.
