Holiday madness is starting to creep in, and for those in the United States it all starts with the Black Friday sales.
I know I'm getting everyone in my family 3D printed gifts and we want to help you spread the 3D printed love too, so we've got some Holiday Weekend Deals:
Just enter these codes at checkout: save10 for $75+, save25 for $125+, save50 for $200+ don't worry, there's a prompt on the cart so you won't miss out.
Wishing you a Happy and Safe Holiday Season from all of us at Shapeways!
Shop owner markups will not be affected by this promotion.
The fine print: This promotion is non-transferable and only one discount is valid per Shapeways order. Offer is valid five times per customer but may not be combined with other discounts or promotion codes. Only 3D prints count towards minimum spend amounts, not Sample Kits, Gift Cards, shipping, wrapping, taxes, or past orders. If you order a model during the promotion period that cannot be printed and has not been successfully printed before, we cannot apply discounts to future orders (even if these models are repaired). If you return your purchase, you will be refunded the amount paid. Shop owner markups will not be affected by this promotion. Promotion ends Monday, December 2nd at Midnight Pacific.
Yes but as I said it's much worse in most circumstances (unless you happen to have make it that specific amount). For my cart ($160), the savings are around 15% rather than 20% which it traditionally has been. Disappointed that it was changed so much...and there isn't even free shipping to compensate :/ I understand the economy is tough, but Black Friday is supposed to offer great deals to the people as an incentive to spend...15% off is a rather poor incentive compared to what most retailers are doing.
Bit disappointed with fact Europe is set to the equivalent amount in Euros. There is over €50 difference between $200 and €200 and the discount isn't equivalent... The discount in Europe isn't better than last years 20% off in any of the cases. Great deal for America however!
EXTREMELY disappointed in the black Friday sale! I was counting on the 20% off deal like last year and do not find the remark of $50 off 200 as being a better solution.
I was saving up for a big order and now have to split up the items into several batches to make use of the savings BUT guess what, I have to pay extra shipping for all of them now and end up not saving much compared to the 20% off last year. Its hard to bunch my orders to hit the targets of $125 or $200 so I end up losing out.
I wish it was a simple 20% like last year, very very let down by this as I was waiting for 2 months to place a huge order.
I can understand your frustration in waiting to place a big order for a big saving. We try to keep our prices as low as possible all year round and have offered several promotions over the last 6 months, including free shipping for the USA and parts of Europe last week.
Last year the ONLY sale we did was the Black Friday sale, which is why it felt special (it was!). This year we are able to offer many more and varied savings, and will continue to do so going forward.
As you said you can bunch your orders, and use the discount 5 times, again better than last year.
We're doing our best, and I do thank you for your feedback, we'll use it to make even better promotions next time!
I have tried to use the Save50 coupon twice, everything looks fine and it discounts until I get to the "review" screen and then the discount resets to zero and the original undiscounted price is shown and the only option is to finalize checkout, attempting to readd the coupon code doesn't work on this screen it says "save50 applied" and discount 0.00
I would also like to add, that I finally thought I got the code to work, entered it in the shapeways checkout screen and it reduced the price, then when I went to pay with paypal, I saw I was being charged the FULL amount without the discount yet again! There is something wrong with the codes and how shapeways has set this up. I have been trying to get the codes to work for over 10 minutes.
