The Shapeways 3D parts database
The Shapeways 3D parts database is a place where you can download files for 3D printing. These files are 3D printing parts that you can use for free. The files currently in the database have all been tested and printed by us and all "print for sure."
We have made these files available to you in order to help people build better things with 3D printing. It is a gift. We hope that this inspires people to make awesome stuff.
You can check out the gallery with the
3D parts database models here.
We tested them on our EOS Formiga p100 using the Selective Laser Sintering Process in both orientations. This means that they will print for sure on Shapeways using the White, Strong & Flexible material. Results with your own 3D printer, especially if that printer uses a different technology will vary.
The files are all offered in the STL (Stereolithography) file format. In some cases (where it will save time for CAD designers) we also offer files in STEP and IGES format.
This database will grow as we make and print out more parts. At a later stage we will allow you to contribute to the database, so you can inspire and help others.
Please be aware that gears and gearboxes can not be scaled because they will not work. Furthermore, in addition to the expected calculated axle distance of a gear you should add 0.5mm to this distance in order for them to work properly with the 3D printing process.
You need to be logged in to Shapeways to download the models.
